LAMPANBETWEEN TWOBLANDAS

LAMPANBETWEENTWOBLANDAS literally consists of an IKEA lamp fixed between two fruit bowls, which by this small intervention suddenly gets a sixties look.

Studio Plus' Wouter Nieuwendijk and Cay Schroder like to re-use existing products with making as little alterations as possible. Their motto: design creates design.

You need 1 LAMPAN lamp and 2 BLANDA fruit bowls. One with a diameter of 36 cm and one of 28 cm.

Attach the lampshade of the LAMPAN to the exact middle in the inside of the BLANDA fruit bowl of 36 cm, with a nut and bolt. (Also check out the drawing on the bottom of this page.)
You do this by drilling a hole in the middle of the fruit bowl and in the middle of the top of the lampshade. The LAMPAN lampshade has a very solid top, different from many other lampshades on the market.

Attach the undercarriage of the lamp with three nuts and bolts evenly spaced on the top of the BLANDA fruit bowl with a diameter of 28 cm, exactly on the middle. This is also done by drilling holes in the fruit bowl as well as in the plastic undercarriage.

The diameter of the holes and the matching nuts and bolts can vary from 2 to 4 mm.

When the whole thing is sandwiched and attached, the nut on top of the lamp is still visible. As a finishing touch you place a blank metal button over it with some construction glue. (So only the metal round part of the button where the picture usually goes, not the bottom part where the pin is. The button exactly covers the nut.)

The three nuts on the foot of the lamp that are still visible, are well-consired and acceptable within the design of the lamp, according to the expertise of Studio Plus. These thus don't have to be covered.

Et voila - your own LAMPANBETWEENTWOBLANDAS super retro cool customized table lamp!!
