During SITE2F7 in Almere on 21, 22 and 23 August Platform21 built a house of straw and clay in collaboration with De Paviljoens and designer Daan van den Berg.
The best charactersitic of this sustainable building technique is that the clay cracks and so the loam stucco constantly needs to be repaired. And that's exactly how we like it.
During SITE2F7 we will build and repair houses with the public during two workshops. We are especially curious if new techniques will develop while doing this.
Furthermore we want to plant a Japanese zen garden, so if you have a green thumb please come and help us.

2F7 is the last remaining unplanned spot in the city center of Almere. During lifestyle festival SITE 2F7 inhabitants, students, artists and biologists show the potential of this area.
Parcel SITE2F7 is a neglected plot of land in the middle of town with unrivalled possibilities for the future. Within a few years, will the university campus be build here? Will this become THE center for sustainable shopping in the Netherlands or will it become the spot for a dynamic WTC for innovative entrepreneurs? Will it become the new ecological city park of Almere or an experimental area where music and graffiti can develop freely?
You can develop your ideas for this remarkable spot in Almere as well.

Museum De Paviljoens organises the SITE2F7 festival for the young and the old in order to show what the sustainable possibilities and chances are for this spot.

The Repair Road Show will be present for three days to inspire future plans!

This summer Platform21 travels the country with the Repair Road Show. With our Repair Mobile we will be present at various festivals and events throughout the Netherlands. The Repair Team executes quick fixes on all sorts of broken things that can be found on festivals: from ripped bags, belts and other garments to picnic blankets and broken tent-poles.
We are happy to serve you a free cup of coffee while we tell you about the Repair Manifesto and the Most Remarkable Repair Contest. With the Repair Road Show we want to enthuse even more people about repairing and give many more products in this country a longer life.
