The worldtour brought Hacking IKEA to Asia for a second time. This time 30 new IKEA - hacks were presented in the MOT Gallery in Taipei City, Taiwan, as part of the Taiwan Designers Week.

Taiwanese curator Sasson Kung was inspired by the way in which Platform21 = Hacking IKEA showed a new representation and aesthetic notion on everyday mass products. Kung believes that the combination of commercial products with experimental and artistic influences, creates new topics about mass consumption in society.

With Hacking IKEA Kung hoped to give his Taiwanese audience a glimpse into global design concepts and trends and to provide a platform for designers where they can share ideas.

Besides the new pieces by ten Taiwenese designers the works of former hackers of Platform21 = Hacking IKEA were exhibited as well: ASTRID by Lisette Haasnoot, TRASIGT HJÄRTA by Eric Morel and PLATONIC SUNS by Daniel Saakes.
Saakes himself travelled to Taipei to give a workshop and a lecture about "The evolution of Design Process".
